Relaxing curly cork-screw hair?

My hair is crazy curly. They're little curls (wrap around my finger size), and i really ike my hair, but it needs to chill out... i love my hair when its wet but once its dry it poofs like crazy. Fall Ball is this weekend and i dont know what to do with my hair. its just at my shoulders. any suggestions of produuct to make it looks like it does when its wet (even when its dry)???? HElp please!
